Spam is considered any email that you didn't ask for. And if you provided some other way like a web site to ask for the information, then it would be the web site that is the marketing, and the email just following up since you could have just put the same information on the web site.Here is the truth. People hate spam. People hate telemarketers. So why do people still use them? Because it is cheap and even if you only have 1 sale for 1000s of email you can still make money.I personally avoid things that I know will get me on the spam lists, and always use an email address that I can dump for anything other then personal email.
